Chinese Speaking Orthopaedic Society – "Sichuan Earthquake Orthopaedic Rehabilitation Relief Fund"
The devastating earthquake in Sichuan has shocked the entire world. While massive relief work is being deployed
to the quake-stricken region, each and everyone of us is gripped by the burning desire to lend a helping hand.
On behalf of the Chinese Speaking Orthopaedic Society (CSOS), we would like to set up a "Sichuan Earthquake Orthopaedic Rehabilitation Relief Fund".
We learnt that there will be thousands of victims losing their limbs with crushed syndrome, some complicated fractures will need complexed reconstructive surgery,
and above all, a long rehabilitation program.
This Fund will be used in facilitating these patients with fitting of prosthesis, undergoing reconstructive
procedures and embarking on a comprehensive rehabilitation program to restore function, to recover the psychological
trauma and to regain a productive life!!
We shall mobilize the expertise of the members of the Chinese Speaking Orthopaedic Society (CSOS) and liaise with our
colleagues in the respective fields in the Mainland to implement this project.
The Board of Chinese Speaking Orthopaedic Society (CSOS) has pledged a donation of RMB100,000 to initiate this FUND.
